Happy New Year 2007!!!

Wishing you one and all,

A very happy new year 2007

AKEMASHITE OMEDETOU GOZAIMASU

Stumped!

Last tuesday me was at a training session. Due to technical difficulties the start of the training was delayed. In the meanwhile me was having a chat with the trainer. This man after asking what me was doing and he was doing, bowled a googly (this was a googly for me!).
He just asked, "hey, I am from Pune. You tell me 3 things which are famous in Bangalore/Karanataka. So that i could take this home, back to Pune".

Me: Hmm.... good question Sir! But then when me started thinking, me hardly had an answer. 3 things, uh.... ok then........................... you can buy......................uh..............OK! Handicrafts.

He: (immediately replied)hey are u talking about the ones available at Cauvery Handicrafts, MG road ?

Me: Well,,.... no Sir, don't go and buy over there, it meant only for foreigners and not ordinary Indians.
Then..... how about..... (then a colleague of mine pitched in and said...hey, you can buy Silk sarees and sandolwood idols. Karnataka is famous for these two items!

But end of it all, me was not able to figure out 3 good things which are uniquely Bangalore or Karnataka.

Atleast in this case, it was a fellow Indian asking this. Imagine what would be the situation if a foreigner had asked this.

Well food for thought for you guys..... Tell me 3 things which one can buy in Bangalore which are uniquely Bangalore or Karnataka. Something genuine and reasonably affordable for an average Indian (non-Bangalorean). Your thoughts and comments are welcome.

P.S: Pls don't mention KF or UB as Vijay Mallya is based in b'lore.

Aaja Sham Hone Aayee ....

Well, someone asked for this one! By Demand...

Lyrics of Aaja Sham Hone Aayee

Aaja shaam hone aayi
Mausam ne li angdaai
Aaja shaam hone aayi
Mausam ne li angdaai
To kis baat ki hai ladaai
Tu chal main aayi
Tu chal main aayi

Aaja shaam hone aayi
Mausam ne li angdaai
To kis baat ki hai ladaai
Tu chal main aayi
No no
Tu chal main aayi

Baja kya hai dekho zara tum ghadi
Guzar jaaye na prem ki ye ghadi
Baja kya hai dekho zara tum ghadi
Guzar jaaye na prem ki ye ghadi
Aati hoon thoda sa dheeraj dharo
Laga doongi main prem ki phir jhadi
Utni hi door hai tu jitni kareeb hai
Tere mere pyaar ka kissa ajeeb hai
Dhat tere ki
Ab to jaan pe ban aayi
Ye hai pyaar ki gehraai
Ab to jaan pe ban aayi
Ye hai pyaar ki gehraai
To kis baat ki hai ladaai
Tu chal main aayi
My God
Tu chal main aayi
Come soon yaar

Bahut ho chuki hai teri dillagi
Chali aao ab shaam dhalne lagi
Hey bahut ho chuki hai teri dillagi
Chali aao ab shaam dhalne lagi
Mere dil mein kitni umangein bhari
Tumhein main batati hoon aakar abhi
Haan ha mera jaadu chal gaya tera chehra khil gaya
Peechhe peechhe main chali aage aage tu chala
Dhat tere ki
To kar do sabko tum goodbye
Maine pyaar kiya main aayi
Kar do sabko tum goodbye
Maine pyaar kiya main aayi
To kis baat ki hai ladaai
Tu chal main aayi
Make it fast
Tu chal main aayi
Oh come on.

Aate Jaate Khubsurat .....

Heard this wonderful song on the radio.

Lyrics courtesy: http://www.yoodleeyoo.com

Song: Aate Jaate Khubsurat
Film: Anurodh
Music: Laxmikant Pyarelal
Lyrics: Anand Bakshi
Year: 1976

Hmm....
Aate Jaate Khubsurat Awara Sadkon Pe
Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Se
Kitne Anjaan Log Mil Jaatein Hain
Unn Mein Se Kuch Log Bhool Jaatein Hain
Kuch Yaad Reh Jaate Hain
Unn Mein Se Kuch Log Bhool Jaatein Hain
Kuch Yaad Reh Jaate Hain (X2)

Aawaz Ki Duniya Ke Doston
Kal Raat Kisi Jagah Mujhko

Kis Kadar Yeh Haseen Khayal Mila Hain
Raah Mein Ek Reshmi Rumal Mila Hain
Jo Giraya Tha Kisine Jaankar
Jiska Ho Le Jaaye Wo Pehchankar
Warna Main Rakh Loonga Ussko Apna Jaankar
Kisi Husn Wale Ki Nishani Maankar
Nishaani Maankar

Hanste Gaate Logon Ki Baaton Hi Baaton Mein
Kabhi Kabhie Ek Mazaaq Se
Kitne Jawaan Kisse Ban Jaate Hain
Un Kisso Mein Chund Bhool Jaate Hain
Chund Yaad Reh Jaate Hain
Unn Mein Se Kuch Log Bhool Jaatein Hain
Kuch Yaad Reh Jaate Hain

Taqdeer Mujhpe Meherbaan Hai
Jis Shaukh Ki Yeh Daastaan Hai

Usne Bhi Shaayad Yeh Paighaam Suna Ho
Mere Geeton Mein Apna Naam Suna Ho (X2)
Door Baithi Yeh Raaz Wo Jaan Le
Meri Aawaz Ko Pehchaan Le
Kaash Phir Kal Raat Jaisi Barsaat Ho
Aur Meri Uski Kahin Mulaqaat Ho
Mulaaqat Ho

Lambi Lambi Raaton Mein Neend Nahin Jab Aayen
Kabhi Kabhie Iss Firaaq Se
Kitne Haseen Khwab Ban Jaate Hain
Unn Mein Se Kuch Khwab Bhool Jaate Hain
Kuch Yaad Reh Jaate Hain
Unn Mein Se Kuch Log Bhool Jaatein Hain
Kuch Yaad Reh Jaate Hain

Aate Jaate Khubsurat Awara Sadkon Pe
Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Se Kitne Anjaan Log Mil Jaatein Hain
Unn Mein Se Kuch Log Bhool Jaatein Hain
Kuch Yaad Reh Jaate Hain

Whats up doc....!!!????

Hmmmm, long time no post! ;-)
Last month end really had a tough time closing out around 35!!!! appraisals. As usual my appraisal went through smoothly, courtesy boss who just says "Hey, this is ur rating which I have decied, is that fine". Me say fine (keeping in mind the goof ups me faced during the last 6 months!)
Have been put onto UK shift which starts now at 14:30 hrs due to daylight savings in UK! Globalized world u see!

Again work has been a bit hectic with lots and lots of meetings, ppts, reports, and truck loads of e-mails! Donno when is my chance to go onsite!
On the lighter side, for a few of my friends who are civil engineers, onsite means being physically at the site where the construction takes place. Usually this construction site is either at remote corners of the country or outskirts of the city!

what next....? Hey, good news for me and all vehichles which run on LPG. The price of a litre of LPG has been reduced to Rs 26.05 from 28.88!! More reason for people like me to travel in automobiles! Me thinks its high time for me to go on a long...long... ride.
I think me have not met a few good friends of mine for a long time! May be a few weeks ago me met them! Need to catch up and find out what each one is doing.

Will post Chota quiz 2 soon!

1001 things about myself ....... Coming soon!

Me is currently embarking on this mamoth journey to list down 1001 things about myself!! Yes, its me!! myself and I (borrowed this from some pop band)
However, as this task would take really some amount of time, it would be posted only by sometime next week. All this would depend on my mindframe (whether me happy or sad) and the amount of work in office. Hoping that work would be minimal.

Funny feeling

I called up my friend K to tell him this:

Quote
"I had been to the marriage bureau (near to my office) today. I had gone there to check one particular profile which my Mom suggested (Yea, regarding marriage). And then guess what, ........... I happened to find the profile of Miss. R.!!!@#$%^&&

From then on, I have been feeling very funny!! the feeling is funny!!
I have no intentions like the one u had suggested a few months earlier! remember!??? uh.........."
Unquote! ;-)

Father and Son!

Father and Son! Yes, me and my father, are pretty much photocopies of each other. I know its in the genes. But how amazingly similar we are, just me knows it. It starts from the time we wake up in the morning,.... till the time we sleep, most activities we do and the way we do it, our preferences are very much alike. Me would not like to enumerate all the similarities here.... ;-)

one year in office..........

As of today have completed one year in office as Assistant Manager!! ye.................
Been through calm waters and rough seas! really calm and rough ones!
I really need someback from my colleagues as to how me have performed, where me need to improve. My manager is not a person who will state that me did not do this, this, and this. He would just state, just one or two things which me need to improve. Me more concerned abt areas where me have gone wrong in the past one year. Also very much concerned abt my communication skills. This is my weakest area, me suppose. Also need to more effective in my oral communication.

Comedy amidst Tragedy

On Wednesday, me was totally tensed and held up work. One side the client wants certain category of work done and the other side my team does something else. Me had warned them in the evening to action the priority ones. However, at 10 in the night the client calls me up and tells me that non-priority ones are being done.
Me called in team and took them to task. I said "Already we are in soup!! Why do you guys want to add salt and pepper?" LOL ;-)
The words me had to use was why do you guys want to drive the last nail into the coffin!!! Already we are in deep trouble and these guys despite repeated warnings to those things which are not required.

For the past month and a half me in soup! Looks like me have reached a dead end. Even tried speaking to a counseller in the company apart from trying to share my sorrow with many of my good friends hoping that somebody will give me some solution, but in vain.
At times feel that there is nothing more me can do. Me have tried all tricks in the book and now me dont even have a book!!
OR
Me have tried all the tricks in my hat and now even the hat is not there. :-((

How does one feel when in hell?

Me been through a similar experience. From the past one month or so, just feel that me in hell. Work is so hectic, that the situation has taken control of me rather than me taking control of situation. Its really been screwing..............aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Yes me mean it. One side, the client, the other side my boss and the big factor this big 56 member team!!! Me really dont know whats wrong ??? Harldly had time in the past one month to breath! It just work like as ass from 2 or 3 in the afternoon to 2,3,4, 5 or even 6 in the morning. Go back and sleep. Getup and try to eat something with great difficulty (yes, when you work in odd shifts, you just dont feel like eating anything, neither do you feel hungry) and get back to office for the same old grind. Argggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Koi mujhe please bachaao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, on the lighter side of things, the search is on for a prospective bride and yes, its for me!!! Some amount of success till date, if one needs measure it. However, me feel still sometime to go, till me find the right one and say "Yehi hai right choice baby, aha!"

Interest in life!!

Me seem to have lost interest life!! Such a sweeping statement! seems like. Donno why? but hardly anthing interests me offlate, rather since a month. Me do not find anything so worthwhile to spend time on. Not that me have stopped eating food, going to office or other regular stuff. Can't help but to continue doing this as survival matters. Just donno why, but me do not find anything really to cling onto life. Me suppose that everybody in life clings onto something which motivates them to carry on with life normally. Or some goal which takes them places! Me never had any goal in life, nor do me seem like having one :-(
Somebody please tell me what do me do now????????

As usual......

As usual nothing much happening. Infact me was down and out last month. But somehow me have managed to recover to certain extent. Being in a supervisory role me had to take care of lot of evaluations, did it with relative ease, though had to break head at time. Me pretty ok with my evaluation, though was expecting lot of questions from the manager, but evaluation was done in typical my manager ishtyle!!! Need to fight for a decent salary as currently being paid peanuts!!!
Hardly had a thought on my marriage, me know that me ageing day by day. But however this process requires certain pain areas (as me call it) to be rectified or dealt with. Some good news is that me will be off to God's own country by mid April, hoping to rest for a few days. Some uncertainty on this as no travel arrangements have yet been made. Hoping for the best.
From the past two weeks me in UK shift which has thrown me out of gear as me not used to this. Hardly able to have lunch everyday due to the odd timing of the shift. Last week had some problem with my left eye and went to the doctor. By the time me met the doctor the problem/pain had subsided and really felt why did me do got doctor and spend nearly 200 bucks for the same.????
Also after that me have not been able to take the prescribed medicines on time. Simply wasting money, maybe problem of plently now???!!!!!!!!!!

Namma Bengalooru!!

Me just feel these are some typical traits of a bangalorean. Whatever is stated here, may not be true in reality - discretion to be excercised.

- Anyone from bangalore will know atleast more than 3 languagues - English (default), Hindi (all due to bollywood) and their mother tounge. Apart from this, whenever the situation demands bangaloreans try to speak other languages in bits and pieces - especially when travelling by Autorickshaw to direct the driver OR when someone asks for directions

- Bangaloreans pretty much compulsorily watch Hindi movies - all credit to bollywood

- Most bangaloreans avoid speaking in Kannada, even if they know it

- Pretty frequently eat out - at darshini, buffets, hotels & restaurants

- Quite a large section of the male population drink alcohol at regular intervals

- You can find a wine store or pub or bar pretty much within every 100 to 200 metres

- Majority of the auto wallas will try to cheat you. However, at times you will find
very very honest guys who will return your belongings if you forget to collect them while alighting the rickshaw

- Every family in bangalore has atleast 1 two wheeler

- Every bangalorean loves the pleasant weather of bangalore and will try this best not to move out of bangalore

- Every bangalorean hates the traffic and traffic sense in the city, but will try to ensure that they cut all corners when they are riding

- Majority of North Indians (immigrants to b'lore) will hardly ever try to learn the local language, except for businessmen!

- Though bangalore's cost of living is cheaper when compared to metros in India,
everyone just feels that this city's cost of living is high.

- Most bangaloreans work in the service industry - a high number in comfortable govt jobs, IT companies, BPOs, call centres and exception being textiles

- In the high income to rich group/class, in a vast majority of families the son or daughter would be settled in the US of A and ageing parents are left behing in the city

- Though the city's public transport system is much better than that of most other Indian cities, hardly anyone agrees to the same

- Majority of the bangaloreans are immigrants!!

Liquor ruins COUNTRY, family and life!!?

Liquor ruins COUNTRY, family and life!! Yes me read this on a bottle of KF (Kingfisher) yesterday. Me think this is the first time that me saw such a statement on a bottle of liquor/beer. Mr.Mallya is ruining the country???!!! Then its high time we stop Mallya and co! Me was pretty surprised to see this statement printed on the label. In b'lore me have seen on labels that "Consumption of liquor is injurious to health" but not things like ruining the country.
Anways, took off from office for 1.5 days, went over to chennai on official purpose. The company had arranged for a cozy accomodation at one of its pretty luxurious fully furnished apartments in the heart of chennai. Reached the place at around 10 pm and then realised the power of having roaming facility on the moblie (rather the feeling & helplessness of not having roaming facility). However settled down and had some sumptuous and tasty dinner (again courtesy cook arranged by the company).
Next morning got up early at 5 and finished all official work by 9 and was back in the room. Then passed time till around 1.30 and packed up & went to the A/C bar which me had discovered in Dec 05. Found it really difficult to pass time as my train was scheduled at 5.30. Somehow managed to hang around at the bar till around 4.30, also the SL vs BANG match really helped. Wonder what happened to the match result. On my way back to the station was caught in a traffic jam on the flyover in Chennai!!! ye................... Traffic jam on flyovers happen not only in b'lore but also one of 4 metro cities.
Once reached station got into the cozy a/c coach and tried to relax. This journey on the Shatabdi was similar to my journey from London to Bombay. In the sense that at regular intervals passengers are served something or the other. This was the first time for me to travel in a A/C compartment by train. First at just around 6 we were served a sandwich, then coffee, sometime later really piping hot soup (soup was ok) and by 8 dinner was served. Food was pretty ok, nothing to complain about. To top it all ice cream was served. Me though twice before going for it .... sitting in AC coach (temperature around 18), just last week me had severe cold??????
Finally me grabbed it and enjoyed it, though today morning me feeling the result of the same.
During this trip me realised the real good work done by our admin guys at office. Really, they do a nice job. Me was just thinking if me go on an overseas trip, would most likely think of getting some gift or the other for these guys who do a great job. They handle all deputation and travel requirements of hundreds of employees, but they themselves do not get a chance to travel anywhere. Great job guys, me vouch for it.
So at this point in time, me feel that got a chance to cross the atlantic this time and could land up in Big apple sometime in Mar/Apr. Keeping my fingers crossed!
All is well that ends well.!!!

Back in action

Me was out of action for more than a week. Reason friend's marriage and severe cold which me caught in friend's marriage. Last week was very relaxed and had really nothing much to do other scan tv for some good programmes and watch them. Hardly there was anything interesting on TV the whole of last week. The cricket matches entertained me for a while though.

Hindi Lyrics:
Mm hmm hmm hmm, eh hey, la la la
Mujhe raat din, bas mujhe chaahti ho - 2
Kaho na kaho mujhko sab kuch pataa hai
Haan, karoon kya mujhe tum bataati nahin ho
Chhupaati ho mujhse yeh tumhaari khataa hai
Aa mujhe raat din, bas mujhe chaahti ho

Meri beqaraari ko had se badhaana
Tumhe khoob aata hai baatein banaana
Nigaahein milaake yun mera chain lena
Sataake mohabbat mein yun dard dena
Mujhe dekhke aise palkein jhukaana
Sharaarat nahin hai to phir aur kya hai
Aa mujhe raat din, bas mujhe chaahti ho

Tumhe neend aayegi ab na mere bin
Mujhe hai yakeen aisa aayega ek din
Khuli teri zulfon mein soya rahoonga
Tere hi khayaalon mein khoya rahoonga
Kabhi gaur se meri aankhon mein dekho
Meri jaan tumhaara hi chehraa chhupaa hai
Aa mujhe raat din, bas mujhe chaahti ho
Kaho na kaho mujhko sab kuch pataa hai
Haan, karoon kya mujhe tum bataati nahin ho
Chhupaati ho mujhse yeh tumhaari khataa hai
Aa mujhe raat din, bas mujhe chaahti ho

He bought a shirt, tie and a belt and this 3 things cost a princely sum of around 2.7 grand!! that too after discount!
Then the other friend, wanted to buy a trouser or jeans pants. We walked into this posh store and this friend of mine was busy looking out for one which suited his needs. On one side of the wall in the store they had hung jeans of various varities. I had a look at them and they all looked as if they were worn out, old ones. However these are the fashion of our young boys and girls today. These people want to buy these faded, old looking jeans which are actually new at princely sums of 2000 to 4000. Isn't this a fad?
In the same store, in the meantime, one of my friend observed another thing. He saw a female, aged around 25+, looking for some T-shirts. She chose one and took it in her hand and had a look at it. At this point my friend felt she was buying this one for her kid or younger sister (schook kids). However, to his amazement, she went into the trial room and wore this new tiny t-shirt and came out!!! Later he narrated this incident and me had a hearty laugh!!

How abt this one!

There would hardly be anybody who wouldn't like this one!! Cant resist this one!!.. Bet!!!!

Film - Saagar
Music - R D Burman
Singer - Kishore Kumar

Ho, Chehra Hai Ya Chand Khila Hai
Zulf Ghaneri Shaam Hai Kya
Saagar Jaisi Aankhon Vaali
Ye To Bataa Tera Naam Hai Kyaa

Tu Kya Jaane Teri Khaatir
Kitna Hai Betaab Ye Dil
Tu Kya Jaane Dekh Raha Hai
Kaise Kaise Khwaab Ye Dil
Dil Kehta Hai Tu Hai Yahaan To
Jaata Lamha Tham Jaaye
Waqt Ka Dariya Behte Behte
Is Manzar Mein Jam Jaaye
Toone Deewana Dil Ko Banaaya
Is Dil Par Ilzaam Hai Kya
Saagar Jaisi Aankhon Vaali
Ye To Bataa Tera Naam Hai Kya...

Ho, Aaj Maein Tujhse Door Sahi
Aur Tu Mujhse Anjaan Sahi
Tera Saath Nahin Paaun To
Khair Tera Armaan Sahi
Ye Armaan Hain Shor Nahin Ho
Khamoshi Ke Mele Hon
Is Duniya Mein Koi Nahin Ho
Hum Dono Hi Akele Hon
Tere Sapne Dekh Raha Hoon
Aur Mera Ab Kaam Hai Kya
Saagar Jaisi Aankhon Vaali
Ye To Bataa Tera Naam Hai Kya...

Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai

This one is a favorite song of one my friends. Even me like the opening lines of this song. Just have a look at the lyrics and it seems so true!

Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai, Maujon Ki Ravaani Hai
Zindagi Aur Kuchh Bhi Nahin, Teri Meri Kahani Hai

Kuchh Paakar Khona Hai Kuchh Khokar Paana Hai
Jeevan Ka Matlab To Aana Aur Jaana Hai
Do Pal Ke Jeevan Se Ek Umra Churani Hai
Zindagi Aur...

Tu Dhaar Hai Nadiya Ki, Maein Tera Kinara Hoon
Tu Mera Sahara Hai, Maein Tera Sahara Hoon
Aankhon Mein Samandar Hai, Aashaon Ka Pani Hai
Zindagi Aur...

Toofan To Aana Hai, Aakar Chale Jana Hai
Badal Hai Yeh Kuch Pal Ka, Aakar Dhal Jana Hai
Parchhaiyaan Reh Jaati, Reh Jaati Nishani Hai
Zindagi Aur...

Jo Dil Ko Tasalli De, Woh Saaz Utha Laao
Khushiyon Ki Tamanna Hai, Ashkon Ki Ravaani Hai
Kis Baat Ka Rona Hai, Har Cheez To Faani Hai
Zindagi Aur...

Ek Ajnabi Hasina Se.........

Me been humming this song from a long long time!! ;-) This has no reference to anyone living/dead/inbetween!!!

SONG: EK AJNABI HASINA SE
FILM: AJNABI
MUSIC: RAHUL DEV BURMAN
LYRICS: MAJROOH SULTANPURI
YEAR: 1974

Ek Ajnabi Hasina Se Yun Mulaaqat Ho Gayi
Phir Kya Hua Yeh Na Poochho
Kuch Aisi Baat Ho Gayi

Wo Achanak Aa Gayi
Yun Nazar Ke Saamne
Jaise Nikal Aaya Ghata Se Chaand (X2)

Chehre Pe Zulfen Bikhri Hui Thi
Din Mein Raat Ho Gayi
Ek Ajnabi Hasina Se Yun Mulaaqat Ho Gayi

Jaaneman Jaane Jigar
Hota Main Shaayar Agar
Kehta Ghazal Teri Adayon Par (X2)

Maine Yeh Kaha To
Mujhse Khafa Wo
Jaane Haya Ho Gayi
Ek Ajnabi Hasina Se Yun Mulaaqat Ho Gayi

Khubsurat Baat Yeh
Chaar Pal Ka Saath Yeh
Saari Umar Mujhko Rahega Yaad (X2)

Main Akela Tha Magar
Ban Gayi Wo Humsafar
Wo Mere Saath Ho Gayi
Ek Ajnabi Hasina Se Yun Mulaaqat Ho Gayi

Vision INDIA 2027

Yes, you read it right! Vision INDIA 2027.
By the year 2027 INDIA will be a developed country and force to reckon with on the world stage. Why?????

Bcoz of several factors, which me would keep adding over the next few days/months!!
Again, this is my thinking and my estimate that me had in mind since 2002??? In 2002 me visualised that in the next 25 years due to the various changes happening all around, my country would be a developed one!. Me not a visionary nor sooth-sayer or predictor or what not. Its just my hope and estimate that this will soon happen, all bcoz there is an underlying shift in the society today, which is slowly crawling under our feet and which we do not take cognisense of. Do you ever feel the earth rotate or revolve per se. You might perceive the day & night effect and the various seasons, but not the rotation & revolution of the earth. Similarly, me think that several things are changing the face of our country and this will all culminate in 2027. Just wait and watch.

Few major factors
1. Realisation amongst a majority of the educated urbanites (read properly!) that today due to our rapid urbanisation and westernisation 2 countries have been created. One INDIA, the haves and BHARAT the have not. The congnisance of this fact is just enough to spark the thinking that all of us need to somehow help in building BHARAT and bring it on par with INDIA.

2. Majority of the people, especially the working class and poor are gradually getting disgusted with the govt and its services. This will change soon, just wait and watch

3. Technology is advancing so rapidly that people in power will get chucked out as these technologies will enable our people to get rid of babus and other people who control information and delivery of services.

4. Compared to the past, there are a large number of NGOs in operation today. Who are these NGOs ? These are association of individuals who care for our country in some manner or the other. Mostly people who fall into the category mentioned in point 1.

5. India's literacy rates are on the rise. Atleast 70% literacy is on the horizon. Me dont think that we will ever by 100% literate country, however 70% is pretty good enough.

6. The percentage of youth or young men and women who think and act is on the rise. A large majority in the range of 30-50% soon. This will be the set of people who will gradually bring about change.

Will keep adding more and more points over a period of time. Me do not claim that any revolution will happen, but things change at snail pace in our mahaan country Bharat/India. Did you ever notice how changes took place in the banking sector in India? Only today feel that PSBs cheated you till PVN came in!!
Ever felt how cell phones crept into your life?? Ever just realised how easy it is now to get a gas/power/water connection??? Changes have happened we just never took full cognisance of the same. We realised the change only we sat up and took notice.
Yes, similarly, changes are already on the move, its happening, just take note of these.

INDIA, a developed country,........... coming Soon.!!!!!

Currently reading....

Me currently reading.. "The coming collapse of China" by Gordon Chang. Me still halfway through the book and the book does not hold my interest any more. The book is not about the collapse of china as a country or economy. The book trumpets and beats around the bush trying to drive home the point that the communist and authoritative government in china will soon fall or collapse. The book is 99% about the collapse of communism and its marxist methods and policies. The book does not doubt or undermine the potential of China, instead the author repeatedly tells us that this authoritarian power hungry govt in the hands of the communist party will fall soon, bcoz of various reasons. Got bored, felt that the same point was repeated more than once,... yes this is how the books talks again and again about the same old thing. Me have read till around page number 110 or so and its the same old story. Me just think that this book is one which gives a pessimistic view abt china rather the normal goody goody nice and exagarated reports from McKinsey or Goldman Sachs. However no harm in reading.

MLTR - 2

How about this one!
Someday

In my search for freedom
and peace of mind
I've left the memories behind
Wanna start a new life
but it seems to be rather absurd
when I know the truth
is that I always think of you

Chorus:
Someday someway
together we will be baby
I will take and you will take your time
We'll wait for our fate
cos' nobody owns us baby
We can shake we can shake the rock

Try to throw the picture out of my mind
try to leave the memories behind
Here by the ocean
wave's carry voices from you
Do you know the truth
I am thinking of you too

Chorus:
Someday someway
together we will be baby...

The love we had together
just fades away in time
And now you've got your own world
and I guess I've got mine
But the passion that you planted
in the middle of my heart
is a passion that will never stop

MLTR - 1

One of my alltime favorite song!!! from MLTR

I'm Gonna Be Around Lyrics

It's been so long since we took the time
to share words from deep inside us
We're in our own world spinning our wheels
but you know how I feel

since the first time I took your hand
my love for you has just been growing
You always seem to understand
You know how I am

Chorus:
I'm gonna love you til the end
I'm gonna be your very true friend
I wanna share your ups and downs
I'm gonna be around

When you're alone cause I'm away
don't be sad don't be afraid
I'm gonna turn my thoughts to you
like I always do

Chorus:
I'm gonna love you til the end
I'm gonna be your very true friend...

Catch you when you fall
Hold you when you’re down
Sharing every moment
I wanna show you all I do
I believe I’ve found a miracle
in you

Chorus:
I'm gonna love you til the end
I'm gonna be your very true friend...

Its lonely at the top..

Me just think that the popularity one has in office is inversely related to the person's ranking in the organisational hierarchy. If the person is at the lowest level his popularity is on the higher side. As he moves up the ladder, his popularity dips, instead unpopularity takes over. Its always the case. People higher up in the organisation have fewer friends to talk to or go to lunch with.

This observation is based on few examples seen by me. Comments welcome.

My world is max 20" wide!

How big is my world. Just about (max) 20 inches wide (Dont think of something else). What me mean is............. Everday for about 9-10 hours me sit in front of comp at office where the world is just about 17" wide. With one hand on the keyboard, usually the left hand and the right hand pretty much permanently on the mouse!! Then when back at home atleast for 1-3 hrs the world is 20 inches wide. Me talking about the size/width of the tv screen. Hence effectively 10-13 hrs a day is just max 20 inches wide. Rest 8-10 hrs goes in sleep, ya me know that dreams do not have any fixed size, me mean the format! neither 17 or 20 or 70 mm cinemascope like that.
For most of us this holds true as we are most of the time glued to the TFT or picture tube which is our world. For most part of the day, the right hand holds either the mouse or the TV remote!!! ugh....... How boring!! But still me do the same thing day in and day out.

However this world gets enlarged when we meet friends. The horizon broadens. Similarly when we read books which takes us to a new plane (provided the book interests us!).

Me like her smile....;-)

Yes, Me like her smile..... Me talking about the smile seen on the face of an actor on TV. Yes.. TV!!! There is this tv serial which me watch on and off. It had been quite a while since the smile appeared on the face of this actor, nearly a month or so. So in the last two episodes saw her smile and felt good. Donno why!!! Donno why....... (Some what like Enrique's song.... Donno whyyyy! Donno whyyyy!.

Picture of You........

Even this one came to my mind... Me somehow like this song including the Video.

Boyzone: Picture of You featuring Mr.Bean (seen this one?)

Didn't they say that I would make a mistake
Didn't they say you were gonna be trouble
People told me you were too much to take
I could see it, I didn't wanna know
I let you in and you let me down
You messed me up and you turned my whole life around
Let me feel that I had no where to go
I was alone, how was I too know that..
You'll be there, when I needed somebody
You'll be there, the only one who can help me

I had a picture of you in my mind
never knew it could be so wrong
Why'd it take me so long just to find
the friend that was there all along.

Who'd believe that after all we've been through
I'd be able to put my whole trust in you
Goes to show you can't forgive and forget
looking back, I have no regrets cause..

You will be there, when I needed somebody
You will be there, the only one to help me

I had a picture of you in my mind
Never knew it could be so wrong
Why'd it take me so long just to find
the friend that was there all along

You will be there, when I needed somebody
You will be there, the only one to help me

I had a picture of you in my mind
never knew it could be so wrong
Why'd it take me so long just to find
the friend that was there all along
(Repeat to fade)

I'd Do Anything For Love ................

Something...

Really do not know what to post. Sometimes me think of writing something, but by the time me log into Blogger, really forget the topic. A new calendar year has started and me not too enthused about it. Really did not feel that its new year???? All me thought was its a new CALENDAR year, isn't it!!

If at all me start to think of this year, a few thoughts come to my mind:

- This year me expecting a good pay increase and grade change, if not..........

- Thinking of buying a cycle, yes its a cycle. Bcoz, one it would help me save on petrol (and for the country.... so patriotic, ;-) ). Two, me will excercise a little, yes... cycling is as good as exercise.

- Thinking of saving some money and buying a digital camera - a decent 3-4 megapixel. Tired to thinking abt asking others to buy one or asking someone else.

- Waiting for the flowers to bloom in b'lore this january. Especially those yellow ones. Really lost out on the pink ones. Me talking abt flowers.... saw a few trees with the pink bloom. At that time thought which came to mind was .............. in japan they have a holiday for this very activity. Watching those beautiful flowers which would have bloomed in autum. Really cannot recollect the japanese word for this one.

Anyways, when think of japaenese, some japanese here (written in english!)
AKEMASHITE OMEDETOU GOZAIMASU = meaning HAPPY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

- Need to learn japanese language in full, i.e. atleast to a level that me can speak. Will mostly take up level 2 exam by end of this year if things go as planned.

- Marriage.................... ok, is this in the corner of my mind, would all depend on my parents.

- Need to build a good website for my organisation sevabharati. There is one kutty site already www.geocities.com/sevabharati2003 but need to ramp it up to including all sorts of information, with regular updates.

The other day was just thinking about the condition of roads in b'lore. In India, we have developed some good technology say, to indigeneously launch satellites, manufacture some planes & arms/ammunition. However, we dont still seem to have technology of building roads such that they withstand the ever increasing vehicle population and Indian monsoon. Offlate all roads in b'lore look like as if they have been scrapped like a carrot!! What do u say, isn't this true. On the other side all people like me do is comment/crib that roads aren't any good and do nothing. Me just feel its high time we took up some initiative on this front.
