Gaalipata

Hmm, though this is not a movie review, me felt like writing something about this great movie.
OK, Gaalipata in Kannada means a Kite! Somehow was able to go and watch this movie in the very first week.

One thing which struck me was (rather few things) (in random order):

- This movie will be a hit bcoz this movie has got characters, each one is its own class!!really.
This movie aint like other run on the mill where there's just a hero, dancing heroine, bad guy villain, and some extra funny and bekaar characters.
In this movie, even a PIG, yes a pig has been showcased as a character!
The characters are just great, especially that character "Dracula"

- This movie will make you laugh and cry unlike Mungaaru Male which made you only cry and hum the songs.

- The picturization is once again just great. The Mullayyanagiri mountain, the scenic Shivanasamudra falls, those coffee estates, mountain tops, the mist, the fog, just great

- The movie does not have a fight (with bad guys, villains etc)

- 2 songs are very good, pretty much in line with Mungaaru Male. I think pretty much the same tune has been used and even the base music for the songs.

Strike a day - keeps some vehicles away!

So, early part of this week, all IT and ITES companies in Bengalooru wiltered under the strike called by the transport gusy (Read yellow boards). All guys like you and me who work in IT companies (be it WITS or any other softi company) had to use our own cars or two wheelers (which everyone of us had) or gals had to get a taste of our own No.1 public transporter BMTC.

I say, that each day one section of the society in Bengalooru (whey B'lore why not entire India or the world) should go on strike. Just remember the Auto strike we had a few days ago, remember those traffic free streets OR just remember the day when these cabbies went on strike and you were able to travel to Electronic city within 30 to 40 mins from any part of town! Now thats what me coming to.

Each day if one section (described later) goes on strike we'll have free flow of traffic (remember Captain cook salt!) on the roads of Bengalooru. Really believe me.
Also keep in mind that the city policy is toying with the idea of having only odd or even numbered vehicles plying on the city roads.

So let there be a strike by
All BPO employees
All IT pepople (softies)
All Bus drivers
All Auto drivers (they do it frequently)
All Two wheelers
All Cars
All Shop keepers
All Drunkards
All Smokers
All Hoteliers
All Students
All Teachers
All Government staff (remember those deserted street in and around Vidhan Soudha)
And finally all Bloggers....!!

Media........

So now a days the media (TV, newspapers and to some extent radio) go ga-ga over something until the anchors themselves get fed up of telecasting the samething.

1. At the beginning of the year it was news about some people being ill treated at a party and this fact made them ask everybody in the coutry if Mumbai is a safe place. You fools, dont people know that all those young guys (and gals too)who go to most new year parties are drunk and hardly have any control over themselves. Do you expect this crowd to sit and just drink some orange juice??? As far as me concerned this TV walahs have got no better thing to do.

2. Just a few days later, media went ga-ga over Sachin and Laxman. If you watched the telecast, pls recollect Sachin's reaction after he scored his century. Decide for yourselves if this guy was happy that he achieved a personal record or was he happy that he contributed to the team's cause. You decide....

3. And then big bang, just bcoz few umpiring decisions were incorrect and someone was called xyzz..... whatever, why does the team need to pull out of the tour. On one of the blog (think its prem panicker) a wonderful concept has been suggested, that of protest. Protest in the sense that in the next 2 test matches the Indian team should just play without any appeal whatsoever, even if an Aussie batsmen is out the team should not appeal, just carry on playing. If at all those Aussies have got anything called sportmanship or spirit, they themselves will move out the ground and the next batsmen will come in. Why not give it a try....

4. An for the next week or so, starting 9th Jan, media will be gung ho about Tata 1 lakh car. Reviews, re-reviews and what not. Just switch on any news channel in the coming days and you'll get to see lots of fun and repeat telecasts..........
Regarding the so called controversies,

a. This car will clog and pollute out already crowded and polluted "Indian" roads. What the hell ? Aren't our roads already polluted and clogged?? Why did somebody not think of it prior to this. Its as if this new car will create all the pollution and clogging. Nonsense
Regarding pollution nobody raises their finger towards all those gas guzzling and polluting GM, Ford, Toyota, cars... How is this car different. Yes its different in the sense that per capita pollutants will be lower. Does someone recognise that???

b. This car will not meet saftey standards. Boss, the concept of this car is that it would be better than a 2 wheeler. Now till date what damn saftey did we have in a 2 wheeler. Absolutely none!!! But nobody questioned this. Why not go and catch these 2 wheeler companies starting from TVS, Bajaj to Honda and Suzuki...?? Why??
